Winter Storm Warning issued for Central Virginia ahead of snowfall

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for Central Virginia ahead of Friday evening's forecasted snowfall. As of 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, the following localities had been placed under the winter storm warning: Brunswick County Charles City County Cumberland County Dinwiddie County Chesterfield County Colonial Heights Henrico County Eastern King William County Eastern King and Queen County Greensville County Middlesex County New Kent County Powhatan County Prince Edward County Prince George County Sussex County The City of Richmond According to the NWS, heavy snow -- with upwards of 5 inches in some areas -- is expected to affect road conditions, likely making them slick and hazardous.
