Woman dies after vehicle overturns, hits building near church in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman has died after police said the vehicle she was driving ran off the road in Chesterfield, then overturned and hit a building near a church Sunday evening.

At 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, a woman was driving a Hyundai SUV west at the 12800 block of Bailey Bridge Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, overturned and hit a building near Brown Grove Baptist Church, causing minor damage, according to police.

The Chesterfield County Police Department said the woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene due to her injuries.

Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This marks the eighth crash on Bailey Bridge Road since January, according to Virginia’s Traffic Records Electronic Data System (TREDS). It's also the second crash near Brown Grove Baptist Church.
