Woman fighting for life after vehicle hit her in Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is fighting for her life after she was hit by a vehicle in Chesterfield County late Tuesday night.
At about 8:37 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department were called to the 7300 block of Route 1 for report of a pedestrian struck.
Investigators determined that a vehicle was moving south on Route 1 when it hit a woman. She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash, per police.
As of about 10 p.m. Tuesday, southbound Route 1 between Bensley Commons Boulevard and Alcott Road is closed. Police said it will remain that way for an extended period.
