Woman found shot in Richmond motel room, police investigating

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide after a woman was found shot in a motel room Monday morning.
At around 8:44 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, Richmond Police officers were called to the 6600 block of Midlothian Turnpike for the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman inside a motel room with a gunshot wound.
According to police, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
