Woman hit by vehicle, killed at Henrico County intersection

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is dead after she was hit by a vehicle at an intersection in Henrico County Monday evening. At 10:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, officers with the Henrico County Police Division responded to the intersection of Azalea Avenue and Sandpiper Drive for the report of a pedestrian crash. When officers arrived, they found a woman with obvious traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police continue to investigate. Azalea Avenue was closed between Pony Farm Drive and Huntington Avenue, but has since reopened. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to call police at 804-501-5000.
