Woman hit, killed by train while walking along tracks in Richmond, police say
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman was hit and killed by a train while walking along the tracks in Richmond's Southside on Wednesday, according to police.
Just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the railroad tracks near the 4900 block of Sunbury Road for report of a person who was hit by a train.
When they arrived, they found a woman dead along the tracks.
Detectives said it's believed she was walking southbound along the tracks when she was hit by a CSX train that was approaching Broadrock Boulevard.

"Foul play is not suspected at this time," a police spokesperson said.
