World record goat yoga attempt coming to Richmond in September
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A world record goat yoga attempt will be held at The Diamond in Richmond in September, with all proceeds supporting a nonprofit.
The event, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, will be an attempt to set the world record for the largest number of people participating in goat yoga.
The world record attempt will begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Diamond, located at 3001 N. Arthur Ashe Blvd.
As well as goat yoga, attendees can enjoy food trucks, local vendors, live music and photo opportunities.
According to organizers, all proceeds will support Pactamere Cares Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides animal-assisted therapy to community members.
General entry tickets are $45, which include one entry, a complimentary yoga mat, a Goat Yoga RVA world record t-shirt and a swag bag.
Goat sponsor tickets are $200, which includes all the goodies from the general admission ticket, plus an additional t-shirt worn and signed by a trained goat, as well as the attendee's name or business name on the back. The goat sponsor will also receive a photo with their sponsored goat.
Although all participants in the world record attempt must purchase a ticket, spectators are invited to attend.
In the event of rain, the event will be held on Oct. 4.
