Youngkin addresses Washington plane crash, Virginia’s efforts against human trafficking
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Governor Glenn Youngkin held a briefing on Thursday to discuss Virginia's efforts in combatting human trafficking. The briefing was held at the Patrick Henry Building in Richmond shortly after 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 30. "Slavery in modern times," Youngkin said. "That is what we're dealing with." After the briefing, Youngkin spoke with reporters about the situation in Washington D.C. after 67 people are believed to have been killed in a plane crash involving an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter on Wednesday night. "I spoke with so many of the first responders, earlier this morning, that had been up all night trying to rescue people," Youngkin said. "Although they are not able to be rescued, they want to recover so that they can be reunited with their families. This is of paramount importance today."
