10 of 15 people detained by ICE at Chesterfield County Courthouse were appearing for traffic-related offenses
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Ten of the 15 people detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at the Chesterfield County Courthouse were appearing in court for traffic-related offenses.
After the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office confirmed that 15 people were detained over the course of four days by ICE when appearing at the Chesterfield County Courthouse, an office spokesperson has released the charges for which they were appearing in court.
ICE previously told 8News all were detained by ICE for "immigration violations."
Ten of the fifteen detained by ICE were appearing for traffic-related offenses. Five others faced charges such as assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, petit larceny and public intoxication.
The following people were arrested on Friday, June 20, according to the sheriff's office:
- Zohar Henry Bonilla Escoto
- Fail to obtain registration
- Possession of forged plates/decals
- Drive without a license
- Fail to obey traffic signal
- No state inspection
- Imitation inspection sticker
- Jose Daniel Delcid Valladas
- Assault a law enforcement officer
- Obstruct justice/resist arrest
- Petit larceny
- Mauricio Escobar Guevara
- No state inspection
- Two counts of no driver’s license
- Illegal inspection sticker
- No state inspection
- No seat belt
- Kevin Espinoza Ballado
- No state inspection
- Improper vehicle registration
- Fail to obtain registration
- Operate uninsured vehicle
- Jaro Abimael Iboy Ibarra
- Drive while suspended
- Illegal inspection sticker
- No state inspection
- Richard Javier Rincon Angel
- No driver’s license
- Illegal inspection sticker
- No state inspection

- Rigoberto Flores-Fernandez
- Receive stolen goods
- Fail to appear in court
- Jonathan U. Escobar-Herrera
- No driver’s license
- Carlos Aguilar-Lares
- Two counts of petit larceny
- Mauricio Alex Rodriguez-Ramos
- No driver's license
- Luis Jose Cedeno-Salazar
- Two counts of trespassing
- Two counts of obstruct/resist arrest
- Two counts of fleeing from law enforcement
- Ovidio Pelaez-Herrera
- Public intoxication
The following people were detained by ICE on Tuesday, June 24:
- Ricky Anthony Hernandez Suarez
- Drive with a revoked license
- No state inspection
- Possession of forged plates/decals
- Operate uninsured vehicle
- Armando O. Oropeza Mendoza
- Driving while suspended
Jose Allende Galindo, who was charged with not having a state inspection, was detained by ICE on Wednesday, June 25.
As of reporting, none of those who were detained appear on ICE's detainee search database. 8News has reached out to ICE to learn the whereabouts of each of the detainees.
