100 women of color honored at inaugural gala in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Women of color impacting Virginia were honored at a gala and award ceremony on Friday evening, an event that honored 8News evening anchor Deanna Allbrittin.
On Friday, Oct. 24, the 100 Women of Color Gala and Awards was held at the Hippodrome Theater, where people celebrated 100 women of color impacting the arts, education and more in Virginia.

Other honorees included Sheriff Antoinette Irving and Rep. Jennifer McClellan.
The 100 Women of Color event has been happening for 10 years outside of Virginia.
