18-year-old charged with second-degree murder after two 17-year-old boys found dead at Chesterfield apartment complex

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An 18-year-old man has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder after police said two 17-year-old boys were found dead with gunshot wounds at an apartment complex in Chesterfield County.

On Saturday, June 21, 18-year-old Richard E. Lamb was charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection to the shooting that occurred on Friday, June 20.

At 11:41 p.m. on Friday, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 14600 block of Creekglen Way in the Creekpointe Apartments.

When officers arrived, they found two 17-year-old boys with gunshot wounds. They were both pronounced dead at the scene, and their identities are being withheld due to their age, according to police.

Lamb was identified as a suspect through the investigation by police. Officials said the investigation indicates that Lamb and the victims knew each other.
