2 displaced after burning candle sparks house fire in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people were displaced after officials said a burning candle sparked an early-morning house fire in Chesterfield County.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Friday, April 10, crews with Chesterfield Fire and EMS and fire units from Colonial Heights were called to the 3700 block of Julep Drive for a reported house fire.

The first firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke and fire coming from the roof of the home. Crews were able to mark the fire under control within 30 minutes.

"Everyone was able to get out of the home safely and there were no injuries," fire officials said.

Two people were displaced as a result of this fire, which officials said is believed to have been accidental and sparked by a burning candle.
