23-year-old man injured after shooting outside South Hill apartment building

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 23-year-old man was injured after police say he was shot outside of an apartment building in Mecklenburg County's South Hill area on Monday evening.
At around 9 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, Mecklenburg County Emergency Communications received a report of multiple gunshots heard outside an apartment building in the 800 block of Powell Drive in South Hill.
As officers responded to the scene, emergency personnel also received a call from VCU/CMH Hospital about a person who had arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
When authorities arrived at the hospital, they found 23-year-old Elijah Seward of South Hill with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Investigators were notified and responded to both the original scene on Powell Drive and VCU/CMH Hospital.
According to the South Hill Police Department, investigators interviewed witnesses and recovered evidence reportedly connected with the incident.
