2nd Street Festival and Richmond Folk Festival returning this fall
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two of Virginia’s largest and most beloved events -- the 2nd Street Festival and the Richmond Folk Festival -- are returning to downtown Richmond in October.
“Venture Richmond Events is proud to produce these two fall festivals that continue to bring such optimism and joy to people from all over Richmond and Virginia.” said Stephen Lecky, director of events for Venture Richmond. “Together they represent a shared exhibition of heritage and new experiences, whether they are the rich traditions of the historic Jackson Ward community, or those from around the nation and the world presented on Downtown’s riverfront.”
In its 37th year of celebrating downtown Richmond's Jackson Ward neighborhood, the 2nd Street Festival will take place over the weekend of Saturday, Oct. 4 to Sunday, Oct. 5, according to Venture Richmond.
The Richmond Folk Festival will occur the following weekend from Saturday, Oct. 11 to Sunday, Oct. 12 -- its 21st year of celebrating American culture, roots and richness along the Riverfront.
These two festivals are in partnership with Richmond, while Venture Richmond Events, LLC, produces both events.
The Riverfront Canal Cruises, which is also part of Venture Richmond, will celebrate its 25th year of historic and private charter tours, which begins on Friday, April 4.
