34-year-old Richmond woman charged following alleged hit-and-run in Ashland

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 34-year-old Richmond woman is facing two charges after allegedly hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene in the town of Ashland in Hanover County in late August.
At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, officers with the Ashland Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 1 and Ashcake Road for a crash involving a pedestrian.
Police said the driver of the vehicle who allegedly hit the pedestrian fled the scene before officers arrived.
The pedestrian who was hit was reportedly taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following an investigation, 34-year-old Alesha McNair of Richmond was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and felony hit-and-run.
On Sept. 2, McNair was arrested without incident with the assistance of U.S. Marshals and is currently being held at Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
