36-year-old man identified by Henrico Police as body found in James River

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 36-year-old man has been identified by Henrico Police as the person whose body was recovered from the James River, south of Rocketts Landing, on Friday.

The man was identified by the Henrico County Police Division and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as being 36-year-old John Anthony Lopez Joubert, of Richmond, according to a press release from officials on Tuesday, March 10.

Police said there were no apparent signs of foul play.

This comes after first responders with Henrico Police and Henrico Fire and EMS were called to the 5600 block of Old Osborne Turnpike for a reported medical emergency in the James River in the afternoon on Friday, March 6.

Crews then found and recovered Joubert's body, according to police.
