Two people, including 4-year-old child, killed in crash in Pittsylvania

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) -- Two people, including a 4-year-old child, are dead after a two-vehicle crash in Pittsylvania County on Friday afternoon.

Virginia State Police (VSP) said the crash happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 at the intersection of Java Road and Halifax Road along Route 57 in Pittsylvania County.

According to VSP, the driver of a 2006 Honda Accord was turning onto Halifax Road when the vehicle was hit by a 2021 Ford F-150.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 46-year-old Charline Gail Patterson, of Java, and four-year-old passenger Ivyonna Patterson, died at the scene. VSP reported both people were using proper safety equipment.

The crash remains under investigation.
