4-year-old boy shoots himself in Nottoway home
NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 4-year-old boy was seriously injured after authorities say he shot himself in the chest in Nottoway County on Saturday. On Saturday, Dec. 7, deputies and emergency personnel responded to a home on Wilson Road after receiving a 911 call about a child shooting himself in the chest, according to the Nottoway County Sheriff's Office. When they arrived, first responders found a 4-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen, according to the office. A .9mm handgun was found at the scene. EMS gave him some medical care at the home before he was med-flighted to an area children's hospital for further treatment of his serious injuries.
