41-year-old woman dies after pedestrian crash in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department is investigating after a 41-year-old woman died following a pedestrian crash in Richmond on Monday night.

At 10:53 p.m. on Monday, July 21, Richmond Police officers were called to the 2900 block of Bells Road for the report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman, identified as 41-year-old Angela Gibbs, of Richmond, down and unresponsive in the roadway.

According to police, Gibbs was taken to a local hospital where she later died due to her injuries.

The Richmond Police Department's Crash Team responded to the scene and determined that Gibbs was walking in the roadway when she was hit by the vehicle. Two people were reportedly in the vehicle and remained at the scene following the crash.

The department's Crash Team continues to investigate this incident. As of the time of reporting, officials said no charges have been filed.
