44-year-old Fredericksburg man facing multiple charges after attempted break-ins

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 44-year-old Fredericksburg man is facing multiple charges after a series of attempted break-ins on a Caroline County roadway on Wednesday evening.
At around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, Caroline County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a string of "alarming incidents" in the county's Rozell Road area.
Deputies received a 911 call reporting a man believed to be "under the influence of drugs," who was asked to leave a home after "becoming disorderly," officials said.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect -- identified as a 44-year-old from Fredericksburg -- returned to the home and tried to kick in the front door to force his way in.
He reportedly left that property and approached a nearby home with a family with two young children was inside. He began kicking at their front door, and authorities said this led to another 911 call from the family, calling it a "frantic" call.
The sheriff's office believes the sirens may have scared the man away from the home of the second call with the two young children.
Deputies found the man running across Rozell Road. When they tried to stop him, he stopped in the roadway and "reportedly began removing his clothing and exposing himself before complying with deputies," officials said.
He has been charged with the following:
- Attempted breaking and entering into a residence
- Two counts of trespassing
- Destruction of property
- Indecent exposure
- Public intoxication
The man was taken to the Pamunkey Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
