44-year-old man shot, killed in Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 44-year-old man has been identified as the victim in a deadly shooting in Richmond's Southside on Saturday night.

On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Richmond Police Department identified 44-year-old Bruce Clayton of Richmond as the victim in a deadly shooting that occurred on Lone Street on Saturday, Sept. 20.

At around 11:54 p.m. on Saturday, Richmond officers were called to the 1600 block of Lone Street for the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Clayton down on the ground with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene, according to police.

A 16-year-old boy was also found with a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, according to authorities.
