50-year-old woman killed in Christmas Eve crash in Northumberland County

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 50-year-old woman on Christmas Eve. At around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on westbound Northumberland Highway, less than a mile east of Jessie Dupont Memorial Highway in the Burgess area of the Northumberland County. (Photo courtesy: Virginia State Police) According to officials, 50-year-old Angela Dawn Lewis, of Callao, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt when it ran off to the right of the road and struck a tree. Lewis died at the scene due to her injuries. State police said she was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
