52-year-old victim identified in deadly pedestrian crash in Henrico
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Henrico County Police Division has identified the victim in the deadly pedestrian crash that occurred in the Fairfield District on Monday night. At approximately 10:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, Henrico police and fire crews responded to the intersection of Azalea Avenue and Sandpiper Drive for a report of a person down in the road. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult female in the roadway with obvious injuries. The crash team investigators identified 52-year-old Camilla Dawn Nichols of Henrico as the victim, who died on the scene of the crash. According to Henrico police, the investigation determined that Nichols was in the left westbound lane on Azalea Avenue when she was hit by a Hyundai Sonata. She was then hit by two other vehicles. The drivers of the vehicles remained on the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigators.
