57-year-old man dies after motorcycle hits utility pole in Henrico
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 57-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle hit a utility pole in Henrico County on Sunday night.
According to a release, Henrico Police responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of River Road and Panorama Drive at 7:55 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10.
When officers arrived, they found 57-year-old Arnold Lee Powell in the right shoulder of River Road with life-threatening injuries. According to officials, he was taken to a local hospital, where he would later die due to his injuries.
The initial investigation suggests Powell was riding his motorcycle westbound on River Road towards Panorama Drive when his motorcycle veered off the road and hit a utility pole. Powell was then thrown from the motorcycle, which ended up in the middle of River Road, police said.
Authorities also said that at this time, it is unknown whether speed or alcohol are factors in this incident.
