5th Annual Fairways for Scott golf tournament to be held in October

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The 5th Annual Fairways for Scott golf tournament, hosted by 2 End the Stigma and partially sponsored by 8News, will take place in October to raise awareness about substance use disorder.

The event is held in honor of Scott Zebrowski, the twin brother of 2 End the Stigma founder Jill Cichowicz, who lost his life to fentanyl poisoning back in 2017. The funds raised at the tournament will help support several different local recovery programs.

The golf tournament will take place at Independence Golf Club located at 600 Founders Bridge Boulevard on Thursday, Oct. 23, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. There will be a shotgun start at 11 a.m. and a post tournament reception held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Event organizers said that participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, and there will even be prizes available for the most creative and best dressed.

Only a few slots are still open for teams of four to sign up, so people are encouraged to act fast.
