COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A 74-year-old Colonial Heights woman was found in her home days after an assault that left her seriously injured. On Sunday, Dec. 8, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were called to the 100 block of Essex Road for a welfare check. When they arrived, officers found an unidentified 74-year-old woman inside the home who had been assaulted. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of her serious injuries. As of Monday afternoon, she remains hospitalized but is in stable condition, according to police.
