78-year-old Richmond man dead after running off road, overturning in Goochland

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 78-year-old Richmond man is dead after his vehicle ran off the road and overturned in Goochland County on Tuesday.
Troopers with Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:21 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, on Route 288 southbound near the Capitol One Overpass in Goochland.
According to state police, a 2009 Toyota Camry went off the right side of Route 288 and hit the backside of the guardrail and multiple posts. The vehicle then overturned.
The driver of the Toyota -- identified as 78-year-old James E. Davis of Richmond -- died at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash.
