President Trump to attend event in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — President Donald Trump is set to visit Charlottesville on Friday.

According to a White House schedule, the president will attend a MAGA Inc. meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by a roundtable at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

Trump is set to depart Central Virginia right after to return to the capital.

The news came after WVIR reported that airspace around the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport would be closed on Friday night for a "VIP moment" associated with the U.S. Secret Service.

Trump's appearance marks the first presidential visit to Charlottesville in 12 years since former president Barack Obama's last visit in 2014.
