8News learns about high-energy, high-impact workouts with Trap Cardio

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from several guests with Trap Cardio for Fitness Friday to talk about their high-energy, high-impact workouts.

8News anchor Autumn Childress was joined by Ashley Redwood, the founder of Trap Cardio, as well as several special guests from the fitness program. She said she was inspired to dive into physical fitness after her father's death due to complications from type 2 diabetes.

"My mind always goes back to, 'if he had this community, would he have made different choices?' And sometimes we have to create the community that we need, and bam!" Redwood said, pointing toward her team.

Redwood explained that the workout, which is all about building confidence, is both high-energy and high-impact.

To get people in the groove, Redwood said they play hip hop, music from the African diaspora and rap.

She added classes are held at 6 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, and at 8 a.m. on Saturday on 904 W. Leigh St. in Richmond.
