8News talks with Richmond chapter of Alzheimer’s Association ahead of Walk to End Alzheimer’s
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from two special guests on Monday to talk about the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer's hosted by the Greater Richmond Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
8News anchors Autumn Childress and Madison Moore were joined by Madison Wilkins, Senior Director of Development at the Greater Richmond Chapter, and Anna Harris, Managing Director at Fahrenheit Advisors to discuss their goals and what people can expect.
"We are aiming to raise over $1 million dollars here in Richmond for the first time ever, and we are on track to do it," Wilkins said.
The walk will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8 at City Stadium, located at 3201 Maplewood Ave, with the opening ceremony beginning at 10:15 a.m. -- with 8News' own Deanna Allbrittin and Eric Philips emceeing.
"We have a chance to be one of the top walks in the nation," Harris said. "Which is amazing considering we're up against New York City, Washington D.C. -- and the funds all go towards research caregiver support, which is something I've tapped into personally and found extremely helpful, so it's for a great cause."
