8News talks with Richmond Olive Oil Company owner for 1-year anniversary

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a chance to talk with the owner of Richmond Olive Oil Company on Friday, as the locally owned business is celebrating being open for a little over a year.

8News anchor Autumn Childress was joined by Robert Granados, an olive oil sommelier and owner of Richmond Olive Oil Company, to talk about what this anniversary means.

"I really try to go above and beyond and make sure I'm bringing really good extra virgin olive oil to the people of Richmond," Granados said.

Located in Richmond's Carytown, the company sells over 40 different olive oils and balsamic vinegars, with all olive oils being extra virgin, single source, cold pressed and cold extracted.

Granados also brought along samples of his products, including rosemary, Tuscan herb and lemon olive oils as well as an Italian fig balsamic.

Additionally, Granados is hosting an ice-cream fundraiser in partnership with Scoop RVA to support Richmond Public Schools on Friday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. -- with beer and wine for the adults as well.
