Accidental fire displaces residents in Albemarle County, no injuries reported

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Albemarle County Fire Rescue battled a fire in Earlysville on Thursday night. While no one was injured, some residents were displaced as a result.

At 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, career and volunteer firefighters responded to the 1000 block of Hunters Ridge Road for a reported structure fire.

According to the fire department, the first fire suppression apparatus arrived at the scene nine minutes after the call went out. First responders discovered smoke throughout the first story of the residence.

The fire was marked as contained at 6:23 p.m.

"The fire was discovered by the homeowner upon returning home, who then called 911," a release from Albemarle County Fire Rescue reads. "No injuries were reported, and family and friends are assisting the displaced residents."

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in nature by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal's Office.
