After 2 years of closure Henrico’s Wilkinson Road bridge will reopen this Tuesday

HNERICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- After two years of road closure, the Wilkinson Road bridge in Henrico is set to reopen tomorrow April 8. at noon.

Wilkinson road, originally closed in 2023 to speed up the construction process of three culverts that would prevent flooding during storms.

According to a post on X Henrico County Public Works & Public Utilities say "With the bridge complete and the finishing touches in process, we’re ready to get back to normal!"

County officials will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. right before the road opens to traffic--the event will also be live streamed the Henrico County Public Works & Public Utilities YouTube page.
