Albemarle County launches new Community Development web portal

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Albemarle County is launching a new Community Development web portal, Civic Access, at the beginning of the year. According to Albemarle County, the launch of the new Civic Access portal will give residents in the county and businesses easily accessible information that gives them the ability to manage a variety of tasks with the click of a button. Officials say the new web portal will give residents: Improved efficiency and access to all applications in one spot. Live updates in real-time and clarity throughout the application process. Clear and effective communication to ensure a smooth application process. In the portal, users will be able to search for a parcel, apply for a new permit, request an inspection, pay invoices and much more. The last day to use the current CountyView portal is Monday, Dec. 30, by no later than 5 p.m. The system will be offline from Jan. 1-12, 2025, to transition to the new portal. Civil Access will be live and available for residents on Monday, Jan. 13.
