AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Amelia County families can get free meals for their children through Amelia County Public Schools this summer. Here's how to get them and where to go.
The Summer Food Service Program will provide free breakfasts and lunches to families in need every day of the week through mid-July, according to the school district.
Several different sites will provide meals, with the procedures varying from site to site.

Sites offering on-site meals
- Amelia County Middle School, 8470 Otterburn Rd.
- Dates: June 3 through July 10
- Operating times: Monday through Thursday, closed on June 19 and July 4
- Breakfast served from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch served from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
- All meals are first-come, first-serve
- All meals must be eaten on-site
- Open to all regardless of enrollment
- Amelia County Parks and Recreation, 16330 Dunn St.
- Dates: June 2 through July 11
- Operating times: Monday through Friday, with breaks/holidays to be announced
- Breakfast served from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch served from noon to 1 p.m.
- All meals are first-come, first-serve
- All meals must be eaten on-site
- Closed-enrollment
Sites offering to-go meal kits
- James L. Hamner Library, 16351 Dunn St.
- Operating times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Breakfast meal kits given out between 9 and 10 a.m.
- Lunch meal kits given out between noon and 1 p.m.
- All meal kits are first-come, first-serve
- Meal kits contain a single meal
- Operating times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Amelia County Food Pantry, 21502 Patrick Henry Hwy
- Operating times: Fridays
- Breakfast and lunch meal kits given out between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
- All meal kits are first-come, first-serve
- Meal kits contain three breakfasts and three lunches
