American Idol journey ends for New Kent County singer Grayson Torrence

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Americans Nationwide casted their votes for the next top 20 singers tonight on American Idol. However, for New Kent County singer Grayson Torrence that journey ended tonight.

Torrence and 24 other singers all held their breaths tonight for what was the 'Final 20' round of the singing competition, however Torrence was eliminated in the first round of 12.

Tonight, contestants sung alongside multi-Grammy award winning artists, Lionel Richie, and performed their 'Songs of Faith' for judges.

Announcements were made April 20, both via social media and on air by host Ryan Seacrest.

Although Torrance's journey has come to an end, you can still tune in to American Idol at 8 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
