Annual Shamrock The Block festival coming to Richmond soon
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Shamrock The Block, a free outdoor festival, is coming back to Richmond for its 19th year in mid-March.
The festival will run from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15. It will take over Leigh Street in Scott's Addition, right by Movieland and the Mid-town Green -- formerly the Washington Commanders training facility.
Mashup & Cozy Condition, a funk music group lead by Michael Hedrick, will be hitting the stage at noon, followed by 90s band Be King & Rewind at 4 p.m., according to organizers.
There will be many food vendors, which will be announced soon, per organizers. Drink options will include Tito's Handmade Vodka, Kona Big Wave and more.
This event is always free and benefits a local organization, Project Local. This nonprofit provides support and funding for other small foundations and charities in the Richmond area.
