Applications for heating assistance open for Hanover residents
HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Applications recently opened for Hanover County residents who need financial assistance for staying warm this winter.
The Fuel Assistance Program, offered through the Virginia Energy Assistance Program (EAP), assists low-income households with paying heating bills. Applications opened Tuesday, Oct. 14 and will continue through Nov. 14.
To be eligible for the program, households must have an income below 150% of the federal poverty level. Applicants must also be responsible for paying their home's heating bill, per a county release.
