Armed suspect robs two Richmond businesses back-to-back, police searching

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly robbed two Richmond businesses at gunpoint within days of each other.

On Thursday, April 17, the Richmond Police Department issued a crime alert for two commercial armed robberies.

The first incident took place on April 10, with officers responding to a business in the 4700 block of Walmsley Boulevard for report of a commercial robbery.

According to police, an armed suspect had entered the store and demanded that the store clerk give them money. The suspect then left on foot with "an undisclosed amount of cash."

Two days later, on April 12, a business in the 5200 block of Hull Street was robbed in much the same way: an armed suspect entered, demanded money from an employee, then left on foot with an unknown amount of cash.
