Ashland man arrested after attempted bank robbery

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 23-year-old Hanover County man was arrested after police say he tried to rob an Ashland bank.

At about 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, officers with the Ashland Police Department were called to the Wells Fargo Bank in the 100 block of S. Washington Highway for report of a robbery.

When they arrived, officers arrested 23-year-old Kenneth Towles, Jr. of Ashland without incident.

Towles was charged with attempted robbery. He is currently being held at the Pamunkey Regional Jail without bond.
