Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad significantly damaged after fire

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad in Hanover County was significantly damaged in a fire Thursday night.

According to a Facebook post by the Hanover County Fire-EMS Department in the evening on Thursday, Feb. 28, firefighters were responding to Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad, located at 203 Duncan Street, for a reported structure fire.

The fire was marked under control and the building reportedly sustained significant damage.

Officials said Hanover County Fire-EMS has deployed resources to the town of Ashland to ensure service is not impacted.

The volunteer rescue squad said there were no injuries in the fire.
