Award-winning local author Sadeqa Johnson to kick off book tour in Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Reading enthusiasts make sure to mark your calendars, because a local, award-winning author is kicking off her newest book tour right here in Richmond.
Sadeqa Johnson is already the author of two New York Times bestselling historical fiction novels -- "The Yellow Wife and "House of Eve."
Her books explore elements of black history close to home, including the story of Lumpkin's Jail, also known as the Devil's half-acre, in Shockoe Bottom.

Johnson will be discussing her newest book, "Keeper of the Lost Children" and her journey as a writer starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9 at Grace Baptist Church located at 4200 Dover Road.
8News evening anchor Deanna Allbrittin will be moderating the event, which is taking place courtesy of Fountain Bookstore.
