Bond denied for suspect in Chesterfield deadly shooting case
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Bond was denied in Chesterfield Circuit Court for one of the suspects in a deadly shooting that occurred in the Brandermill area in March. In the early hours of Sunday, March 17, Chesterfield Police received a call to the 13600 block of Northwich Drive for a reported shooting. Upon their arrival, officers found 22-year-old Barry O. Jordan inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. On April 11, 29-year-old Markice D. Street, of Dinwiddie County, was arrested in connection to the shooting. Following further investigation, Chesterfield Police detectives obtained warrants for 26-year-old Lamont A. Jones, of Petersburg, in connection to Jordan's death. He was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in Alamance County, North Carolina, on July 17. As of Monday, Dec. 30, both Street and Jones are currently facing the following charges: First-degree murder Using a firearm in the commission of a felony Shooting into an occupied motor vehicle Five counts of shooting into an occupied building Police said the investigation indicates that Jordan knew both Street and Jones. According to online court records, Street was denied bond at a hearing in Chesterfield Circuit Court on Monday, Dec. 30. His next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 30, 2025. Jones' next court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025.
