Caroline County to host grand opening for new fire station

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Caroline County will host a grand opening ceremony for its new "Sparta Fire Station" in early May.

The new fire station, located at 24217 Sparta Road in the Milford area of the county, will have its grand opening at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 10.

According to an announcement from the county, refreshments provided by Team Carolina Barbecue will be served at noon, following the grand opening programming.

Those who'd like to attend will be able to park at the Salem Baptist Church at 24032 Sparta Road and shuttle to the fire station.

This event will be hosted by the Caroline County Board of Supervisors, the Caroline Department of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Management and the Sparta Volunteer Fire Department.
