Chesterfield Fire and EMS starting citizens’ fire academy

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Central Virginia residents can learn more about firefighting at Chesterfield County Fire and EMS' Citizens Fire Academy starting Tuesday.
Classes will be held on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25, and 29.
These interactive sessions will include the following:
- Fire station tours
- Apparatus showcase
- Equipment explorations
- Fire safety presentations
- Hands-only CPR training
- Fire marshal presentations
- Fire extinguisher training
During the sessions, attendees may also meet the crew's ATF arson detection K9 Clover.
The graduation date for the course is set for May 2.
