Chesterfield Fire & EMS help with flooding in Grundy

GRUNDY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield firefighters were in the town of Grundy on Feb.16 to help with flooding due to the recent rain.

As a part of the Virginia Task Force 8 (VA-TF8), Chesterfield Fire and EMS were in Grundy, Va. on Saturday night to perform search and rescue missions due to "significant flooding," according to a Facebook post.

There were 24 Chesterfield firefighters deployed as members of their Technical Rescue Team and Scuba Rescue Team, to help with several buildings surrounded by water -- including a hotel and apartment complex.

The team worked throughout the night, and may also go back on Sunday during the day if necessary.
