Chesterfield officials warn of icy roads after tractor-trailer overturns in crash

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield officials urged drivers to stay home, if possible, after a crash occurred on Hull Street Road involving a tractor-trailer Monday evening amid icy road conditions.

In the morning on Tuesday, Jan. 27, Chesterfield County Fire and EMS announced on social media that a tractor-trailer crash had occurred the night prior, just before 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, at the intersection of Hull Street Road and Fox Club Parkway.

Officials said the crash involved a tractor-trailer, which slipped off the road and overturned. The driver was reportedly trapped inside the truck and was rescued by Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews.

The driver had minor injuries in the crash, according to officials.

Chesterfield officials urged drivers to stay off the roads overnight, if possible, as icy spots remain on many main roads.

"We can’t say it enough," officials said in the post. "Stay home and off the roads overnight. Even some of the main roads that were plowed have slick spots due to the cold."
