Chesterfield preschoolers donate canned goods bought with own money

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Children enrolled at three Chesterfield County preschools donated over 1,000 canned goods -- some purchased with their own money -- for families in need. Two of those same preschools also collected hundreds of toys. Primrose Schools is a nationwide system of private preschools. According to a press release from the organization, it hosts a Caring and Giving Food Drive across America each year. "Primrose believes that teaching children the value of giving, sharing and caring is a cornerstone of early education," the organization said in the release.
