City of Richmond, RHHD closes due to severe weather

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- All City of Richmond offices and Richmond City Health District will be closed today Feb. 11 starting at 2 p.m. However, both locations will reopen on a delayed schedule at 10 a.m. on Feb. 12.

Due to the inclement weather, the City Health District has canceled all afternoon clinics, which includes offices and services at these following locations:

  • 400 E. Cary St.
  • Resource Centers: Whitcomb, Creighton, Fairfield, Gilpin, Hillside, Mosby, and Southwood
  • Southside Plaza WIC Office (509 East Southside Plaza)
  • Richmond Community Hospital WIC Office (1510 North 28th St., Suite 201)

The City of Richmond offices say residents should visit rva.gov and follow Richmond's social media channels for city operation updates.

If you're seeking shelter at this time the City of Richmond's inclement weather shelter, located at 1900 Chamberlayne Avenue, will continue its operations based on weather.

An additional temporary inclement weather overflow shelter at Marshall Plaza, 900 E. Marshall Street, will be active during this time and will operate as needed. This location will serve as an overflow capacity only.

Single adult men and women in need are asked to prioritize at the 1900 Chamberlayne Avenue shelter. Meals will be provided at all shelters.

For medical emergencies the Richmond Health District asks residents to call 911. For those who had appointment or service affected by the schedule change a staff member will reach out to reschedule.
