Colonial Heights man accused of shooting other man in ankle

COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A 39-year-old Colonial Heights man is facing multiple charges in connection to a 37-year-old man shot in his ankle late Saturday night. At about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were called to the area of Lilliston Avenue and Conduit Road for report of shots fired. When they arrived, officers began to search the area. An additional 911 call brought them to the 100 block of Cameron Avenue, where they found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his ankle. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not considered life-threatening. Investigators determined that the shooting took place outside of a home in the 400 block of Lilliston Avenue. According to police, 39-year-old Andrew Forehand of Colonial Heights turned himself in at police headquarters around 12:25 a.m. Sunday morning. ‘Severely emaciated’ dog found alone in New Kent He was charged with felony malicious wounding, using a firearm while committing a felony and reckless handling of a firearm. Forehand is being held with no bond at Riverside Regional Jail pending his court appearance.
